Quick overview
- Crimson Desert has zero storage chests. What's in your bag is what you carry — period.
- Default bag is small. By mid-Hernand you'll be drowning in loot if you don't expand.
- Three sources of slots: Commission quests (+3 each), copper-bought Small Bags (+1, one per vendor), and one hidden Extra Large Bag (+10).
- Greymane Camp has 27 Commissions worth a combined +81 slots — the biggest single-region payout.
- Rush bag expansion BEFORE you start hoarding crafting mats, or you'll waste hours dumping junk.
1. No storage chests exist — accept it
- No house, no inn chest, no banker. Pearl Abyss made carrying capacity a core stat.
- The Supply Chest at Greymane Camp (via Rory) is shared faction stash, not personal storage.
- Sell or eat what you don't need. Every village has a vendor — drop loot before pickups.
- This is why bag expansion isn't optional — it's progression.
2. Commission quests = +3 slots each (priority loop)
- Commissions are notice-board quests in every settlement. Reward: a Medium Bag (+3 slots).
- Hernand: Renee, Rhett, Turnali, Alden — clear all four to net +12 within Chapter 1-2.
- Examples: cook fish porridge for Renee, advertise Alden's shop, deliver letter for Rhett.
- Stack with main quest progression — most are 5-10 minute side errands.
- Players hit 200+ slots by mid-Hernand by clearing every notice board they see.
3. Extra Large Bag (+10) — secret respawning location
- Hidden in a sealed crate near a bandit camp west of Hernand City — exact location varies but spawns near a destroyed cart.
- Crate respawns on game-day reset, so multiple bags can be stacked over time.
- Single largest single-source slot bump in the early game.
- Don't miss it before Chapter 3 — the area gets locked behind a story event.
4. Small Bags from vendors (+1, 50 copper each)
- Most general goods vendors sell exactly one Small Bag for 50 copper.
- Visit every vendor in Hernand, Greymane, Calphade, Beighen — easy +20 across early settlements.
- Vendors don't restock the bag — one-shot purchase per vendor.
- Buy them BEFORE you start saving for gear — 50 copper is trivial after Act 1.
5. Greymane Camp — +81 slots from 27 Commissions
- Greymane Camp hosts 27 Commission quests (faction-themed, mostly combat or escort).
- All 27 give +3 slot bags = +81 total slots, the largest single-region payout in the game.
- Most unlock progressively as you raise Greymane reputation — clear faction quests first.
- Combine with Rory's Supply Chest to dump excess loot between commissions.
- Treat Greymane as your inventory hub for the entire mid-game.
6. What to keep, what to dump
- Keep: raw meat, common herbs, abyss cores, quest items, food buffs (Fish Porridge, Spicy Stew).
- Dump: duplicate junk gear, low-tier ores after smithing, generic 'trinket' loot under 5 silver.
- Sell, don't dump on the ground — every settlement vendor takes anything.
- Recipe ingredients you've never cooked are not 'just in case' — they're 50% of your bag bloat.
